Adult Formation
ACTS Retreat
Each fall and spring Christ the King parish will host separate retreats for men and women to break bread together, worship together, receive instruction together, share in Holy Eucharist and reach out in loving service. Patterned after descriptions of the early Church in Acts of the Apostles, the ACTS Retreats provide a space of brotherly and sisterly love where the Holy Spirit is at work. Bible Studies
Groups meet weekly to grow in faith and understanding of Holy Scripture by studying specific books of the Bible through watching DVD presentations by Catholic Bible scholars as a class, then reflecting on and discussing the presentation. 

Marriage Prep Sponsors and Support
Sponsors are active Catholic couples in a strong, valid marriage of at least 15 years, who work with engaged couples as they prepare for the sacrament of marriage to provide a positive encouraging example of healthy married life. Justin and KieuHan Pham, [email protected].

Marriage In His Image
This program promotes the enrichment of marriages at all stages. Couples meet the third Saturday of the month for a topic of interest and small group discussion, then are off for a “Date Night” with their spouse. OCIA Sponsors

Retreat in Daily Life
A seven-month experience designed to lead us more deeply in relationship with God which involves daily prayer, small group meetings and individual spiritual direction, developed by St. Ignatius Loyola. Archdiocese Rep, Nancy Vargas, (405) 760-4640.

Sunday Book Study

Women With Purpose Bible Study
A Catholic women’s Bible study that aims to bring women to a deeper personal relationship with Jesus Christ by offering personal study and small group discussion that link our everyday challenges and struggles with the solutions given to us through the teachings of Christ and the Roman Catholic Church. Children's Formation
Nursery Aides
The nursery provides a warm, safe, and comfortable environment for children, ages six weeks to three years, while their parents attend designated church functions and Masses. Volunteer nursery aides are needed to assist paid nursery personnel. Karen Arvidson, [email protected], (405) 242-4512.

Religious Education Catechist
Volunteers are needed to teach or assist in teaching religious education and Sacramental preparation to our youth, ages three years through fifth grade, during the school year. Karen Arvidson, [email protected], (405) 242-4512.

Vacation Bible School
VBS is a week of fun learning about God and Scripture for children ages four years through fourth grade. Parent and teen volunteers are needed to coordinate VBS – from planning and set up to activity leaders and clean up. Karen Arvidson, [email protected], (405) 242-4512.

Church Ministries
Adoration
Parishioners are encouraged to come and pray quietly before the Blessed Sacrament anytime from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. every Monday. Scheduled Guardians are adorers who have committed to spend an hour in adoration at a specific time each Monday. At least four Scheduled Guardians are present with the Blessed Sacrament at all times. Substitute Guardians are needed to serve when a Scheduled Guardian cannot be there. Benediction begins at 6:30 p.m. Nursery is available between 2:30 and 4:00 p.m. Visit ckokc.org/adoration. Altar Servers
Altar Servers assist the priest and deacons during Mass and other liturgies. Servers must be entering 4th grade or older. Training is provided. Visit ckokc.org/altar-servers. Holly Smith, [email protected], (405) 242-4513.

Choir
The parish choir leads the congregational song at the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass, and enhances the Mass with sacred music in a variety of styles. Communion Ministers
Communion Ministers of Holy Communion distribute Holy Communion at Mass and also take Holy Communion to the sick and homebound of our community. Homebound: Pam Rogers, [email protected], (405) 842-1483. Scheduling: Holly Smith, [email protected], (405) 242-4513.

Gift Bearers
Individuals or families volunteer to bring the offertory gifts to the altar during Mass. Gift bearers sign up as they arrive at Mass at the podium in the church narthex. Holly Smith, [email protected], (405) 242-4513.

Greeters

Lectors

Live Streamers
Adults or students (sixth grade and higher) are eligible to be trained as Live Streamers and make the Mass viewable for those who are unable to attend in person, as well as earn service hours, if needed. Live streamers typically stream 1-2 Masses per month and are notified of other opportunities to stream other events like special Masses, weddings, and funerals. Sacristans
Volunteer sacristans prepare for daily and weekend Masses, funerals, and special liturgies, as needed. Scheduling: Holly Smith, [email protected], (405) 242-4513.

Ushers
Ushers provide assistance to the Celebrant and congregation before, during, and after all Masses, including taking up collections, counting the congregation, and distributing the weekly bulletins. John Garvey, (405) 760-3883.

Votive Candles
The votive prayer candles in the church are a source of hope and consolation for many of our parishioners. Spent candles are changed by volunteers every Tuesday and Friday so that there are always candles available for lighting. Jayne Clarke, [email protected], (405) 242-4511.

Crafts and Domestic Ministries
Altar Linens
Each week the linens used during the sacred liturgy are laundered, pressed and folded by volunteers. Special instructions and patterns for folding are provided. If you are interested in helping with altar linens, please contact Margaret McLain at (405) 205-5353. 

Rosary Making Group
Volunteers from Christ the King Parish meet monthly to string rosaries, promote devotion to the Blessed Mother and encourage recitation of the Rosary. Sacristy Cleaners/Church Care
Volunteers clean the church, dusting the sanctuary, cleaning the holy water fonts, and tidying the sacristy. They meet each week for about an hour on either Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings. Kathy Arambula, [email protected], (405) 242-4531.

Sewing Ministry

Stewardship Committee
This committee strives to make stewardship a way of life at Christ the King Church. They initiate educational programs and organize Ministry Leaders enrichment, Stewardship renewal, Stewardship Appreciation Dinner and New Family Welcome Party. Seeking Chairman/Coordinator.

Outreach Ministries
Feed the Hungry
Parishioners volunteering for the Feed the Hungry Ministry provide items to feed the poor and homeless on the fourth Sunday of each month. Those helping with this family-friendly outreach program may sign up for the item(s) they plan to bring and deliver those items to the Junior High parking lot at 11:30 am on the assigned Sunday morning. Food Bank Volunteers
As a service to our regional food bank and the hungry families around our city, a group of Christ the King parishioners volunteer monthly to do whatever is necessary to help package and sort food for distribution to food bank client agencies. Pam Rogers, [email protected], (405) 242-4527.

Hot Meals Delivery
Volunteers are needed one day weekly or every other week to help deliver meals to homebound seniors every weekday. The Oklahoma County Senior Nutrition Program prepares the meals. Pam Rogers, [email protected], (405) 242-4527.

Knights of Columbus
This organization provides men with a vehicle for building up the parish community and family life with an emphasis on family, youth, church, council, and community activities. The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal service organization of men, founded under the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. Steve Rosenhamer, [email protected].

Peru Mission
The Peru Mission aids the poor of Santisimo Sacramento Parish in Piura, Peru. Each year container(s) are shipped to Peru full of donated building materials, Family-to-Family or Adopt-a-Grandparent supply boxes, bicycles, medical supplies, etc. Volunteers help deliver donations from the church to the shed, sort items at the shed and load the containers. Peru Mission:  Adopt a Grandparent and Peru Mission: Family 2 Family
For $30.00 a month you can adopt a family in Peru. For $10.00 a month you can adopt an elderly parishioner of Santisimo Sacramento Parish. This also could entail exchanging family information, pictures and sending items to your family or grandparent. Jayne Clarke, [email protected], (405) 242-4511

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Volunteers create beautiful prayer shawls for anyone in Christ the King parish who is going through a difficult time, whether grieving, ill, or just needing comfort and reassurance. Projects are finished at home on the knitter’s own schedule. Pam Rogers, [email protected], (405) 242-4527.

Respect Life
This group is dedicated to defending the dignity of human life from conception to natural death through participation in activities such as Rose Day at the Capitol. Seeking ministry coordinator.

St. Lawrence Ministry
Members assist people in our parish area who are in need of emergency assistance with food, clothing, furniture, utility bills, rent, etc. Members meet twice a month for prayer and consultation regarding the requests for assistance. John Snodgrass, [email protected]

St. Martin de Tours Jail Ministry

Tutor Ministry

Parishioner Support Ministries
Funeral Friends
Funeral Friends attend funeral services to support grieving families and friends of the deceased. Funeral Friends will receive emails announcing the date/time/details of funerals scheduled at Christ the King Church. Only registered parishioners are eligible to join this ministry. Funeral Receptions
As a comfort to grieving families, our parish provides a reception immediately following the funeral service. Volunteers are needed to prepare food and to serve as hostesses during the reception. Julie Naifeh, (405) 990-3878.

Grief Support Group
GriefShare is a support group that meets weekly for thirteen weeks. You’ll find it to be a warm, caring environment and will come to see your group as an “oasis” on your long journey through grief. There are three key parts to your GriefShare experience: encouraging, information-packed videos featuring leading grief recovery experts; small group discussion about the weekly video; and journaling and personal study exercises that reinforce the weekly session topics. Home Repair Ministry
Volunteers go into the homes of senior adults to do minor repairs and maintenance. Pam Rogers, [email protected], (405) 242-4527.

Intergenerational Ministry
This program brings together children and senior adults to enrich the lives of both. First and second grade students at Christ the King School exchange cards throughout the year with senior adults from the parish; junior high students write biographies of senior adults as part of the Life Stories project. Lunch and Learn
A free luncheon featuring informative speakers on topics that are important to the well-being of our parishioners. Topics included are healthy living, end-of-life issues, aging issues, taxes and programs, etc. Everyone is welcome. Suggestions for competent speakers or beneficial topics are welcome. Prayer Line
Parishioners e-mail, phone or write the parish office to request prayers for their special needs and burdens. The prayer line is then distributed to ministry participants. Kathy Arambula, [email protected], (405) 242-4531.

Transportation for Seniors
Volunteer drivers transport senior adults to weekend Masses using the Christ the King bus. Volunteer commitment is once monthly or once every-other month. No CDL required. Pam Rogers, [email protected], (405) 242-4527.

Cub Scouts
Through participation in meetings and outings, boys in kindergarten through 5th grade learn citizenship, teamwork, responsibility, and leadership. The boys also develop physically, mentally and emotionally. Christopher Neumann, 405-514-1373.

CK Women Planning Committee
CK Women encompasses all women within our church and aims to connect us to each other and nourish our faith. Our semi-annual events unite the women of our parish and are usually in April and November. Each will feature a guest speaker presenting a spiritual topic. Little Flower Society
A group for young adult women and women young at heart! Little Flower Society helps young adult women grow in faith through various social and fellowship opportunities, meeting other young adults in the parish and learning ways to get involved at Christ the King. Megan Wilson, (405) 301-6622.

Confirmation Support Team
