During the Lenten season Christ the King offers additional times for Eucharistic Adoration, which is simply the worship of the Eucharist outside of Mass. These additional times are:
Each Friday during Lent (February 24 - March 31, 2023), from 3 - 6pm
After Holy Thursday Mass (April 6, 2023), from 8:30pm - 12 Midnight
We need many scheduled Guardians to keep watch over the Blessed Sacrament during these times. To make this duty more manageable, we've broken it into 30-minute time increments, though many people chose to volunteer for an hour so that they may also reflect and spend time with Jesus themselves.
For Friday Adoration, we need three (3) Scheduled Guardians to commit to the same time period on all Fridays during Lent.
For Adoration on Holy Thursday, we're asking for twelve (12) Scheduled Guardians to be present with the Blessed Sacrament at all times, from 8:30pm until 12:00 midnight. Each Guardian will represent one of the apostles and have the opportunity to sit and reflect upon their apostle throughout their 30-minute time commitment. We call this "Putting on an Apostle," and it's a time to put yourself in the Upper Room with Jesus during The Last Supper and experience what the apostles might have thought or felt.
Please consider committing to a 30-minute slot during Adoration this Lenten Season. We very much need and appreciate our scheduled Guardians!
