Weekly discussion meeting of parishioners who are reading the same book. The group alternates between contemporary and classic books. Each book is read and discussed over the course of 6-8 weeks.
Parishioners volunteering for the Feed the Hungry Ministry provide items to feed the poor and homeless on the fourth Sunday of each month. Those helping with this family-friendly outreach program may sign up for the item(s) they plan to bring and deliver those items to the Junior High parking lot at 11:30 am on the assigned Sunday morning.
On the fourth Sunday of each month parishioners cook and serve a nutritious lunch for the poor and homeless at Wiley Post Park. Sign up in the Atrium after Mass on the second and third Sunday of each month. We gather in the Junior High Parking Lot at 12:15pm, load up the food prepared by volunteers and caravan to the serve site. We need volunteers to cook the food and volunteers to serve. In gratitude for their service to Christ the King Church and School, all Altar Servers, student Sacristans and Live Stream Camera Operators are invited for a day of fun at Six Flags Over Texas on Tuesday, May 30th. A charter bus will depart from the CK School parking lot at 6am and return around 11pm that night. The cost is $65/server. This year there is space for a maximum number of 80 altar servers, so please register as soon as possible to confirm your child's bus seat. To adhere to Archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements, we need 14 adults to volunteer to accompany the group as chaperones. There is no cost for chaperones.
We will meet at 11am for lunch before we head down to the Regional Food Bank for our monthly 1:30 - 4:00pm shift. All volunteers must RSVP to Pam at (405) 842-1483 or pam@ckokc.org by the Friday prior to the event.
