As children mature into teens, their spiritual needs increase by leaps and bounds. Youth Ministry is a great tool for students to build community with each other and grow closer to Christ. Youth Formation is much more than just programs, games and a way for teenagers to pass the time with friends; it's about reaching out to the teenagers and offering them opportunities to live out their calling to be witnesses of their faith.
What's the purpose of Youth Formation?
As such, there are many opportunities to assist them in this very important time. We strive to respond to the present and real needs of Catholic youth as they learn to grow in faith, fellowship and the serving of community. In our experience, students tend to enjoy their faith more when they have the opportunity to experience it in a new way. These experiences allow people to put their faith to action and witness how others are living out their call to be holy. It is our objective to offer faith experiences where students experience their faith in a hands-on way.
Our Confirmation Preparation program encourages young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today. We utilize small group settings to encourage intentional discipleship and dialogue among the students. Each small group has a trained facilitator that also acts a mentor for the students. Our program requires community service work and retreats.
Mission trips, pilgrimages, retreats, conferences, camps and visits to religious communities, as well as "connector" events like youth group are powerful evangelization tools and we try to offer these regularly.
