Our Advent Penance Service is set for Tuesday, December 5th, at 6pm.
Approximately 13 priests will be available to hear confessions. Before
celebrating the Sacrament of Penance, one should prepare oneself with an
examination of conscience, which involves reflecting prayerfully on one's
thoughts, words, and deeds to identify any sins.
On Sunday, December 10th the Christ the King parish choir will be joined by the children's choir to present "Advent Lessons and Carols," a service of Scripture and song that dates to the late 19th century. In this service, we listen to nine Scripture lessons that recount the Fall, the promise of a Messiah, the Incarnation, and the Great Commission to preach the Good News. Each lesson is followed by a carol or other song that reflects on the lesson's message and a brief prayer. We hope you can join us at 5pm and stay for the Advent Dinner at 6pm.
